Our nursery is very friendly and has a wonderful homely feel. It consists of three main playrooms and a large outdoor play area, which really has to be seen to be believed.
Our indoor space has three distinct areas separated by age group, each with its own identity,
as follows:
The Caterpillar Room
For children aged from 6 months to 2 years with a staff to child ratio of 1:3
The Hungry Caterpillar Room
For children aged from 2 to 3 years with a staff to child ratio of 1:4
The Butterfly Room
For children aged 3 to 5 years with a staff to child ratio of 1:6
Our Opening Hours
We are open from 7.45am to 6.00pm, 5 days a week (Mon – Fri), 51 weeks a year.
We are closed for one week at Christmas, Bank/public holidays and one training day.
Our Timetable and Routines
The following is a rough outline of our daily routine. We understand that children have different sleep patterns and we will work with you to establish the best nursery routine
for your child during your settling in sessions.
7.45 – 8.30 Breakfast
8.30 – 9.30 Registration and playtime
9.30 – 10.00 Snack
10.00 – 12.00 Outdoor and indoor playtime, focussed activities
12.00 – 12.30 Lunch
12.30 – 14.00 Sleep time, quiet time and indoor playtime
14.00 – 14.15 Snack
14.15 – 16.00 Outdoor and indoor playtime
16.00 – 16.30 Teatime
16.30 – 18.00 Indoor playtime and home time
At Holly House we believe that care and education are equally important in the experience which we offer children. The routines and activities that make up the day in the setting are provided in ways that:
• help each child to feel that she/he is a valued member of the setting;
• ensure the safety of each child;
• help children to gain from the social experience of being part of a group; and
• provide children with opportunities to learn and help them to value learning.
